The Committee of the Executive Council find

the accused

(a)

Not guilty of entering the house against the

will of the occupents;

(b)

Partially guilty of putting the occupants in

fear;

(c)

Not guilty of doing damage;

(d)

Guilty of employing a Government Coolie, which

is stated to be commonly done by Inspectors.

In his statement Inspector Knight says that

he asked the female complainant to procure a girl for him,

this he apparently considered to be a defence against the charge of endeavouring to procure the woman herself. It was also stated

that the husband was given work by the Inspector from time to

time.

Circulate to Executive Council under Rule

61 with a view to decide whether the Committee should be asked

to enquire further "Whether Inspector Knight misused his position. as employer of Liu Puk to obtain his wife Wong Sar for immoral purposes, or to use her (as admitted by the accused) as a procuress against her will". See also rules 58 and 59. Or whether in the alternative no further reference to the Committes

is necessary, and if so whether the accused should be suspended

with a view to dismissal.
